PARADISE HAVEN — A NEW PHOTOGRAPH TAKEN INSIDE SUNFALL WATERPARK HAS DRAWN THE ATTENTION OF PARADISE HAVEN INVESTIGATORS AFTER REVEALING AN ARMED COBALT OPERATIVE STANDING BENEATH THE SIGNAGE OF A FACILITY IDENTIFIED AS THE COBALT SPACE CENTER.

The image shows a soldier equipped with protective gear, a respirator and an automatic weapon. Behind the operative are cargo containers, industrial equipment, elevated walkways and the remains of a structure slowly being reclaimed by vegetation.

The photograph presents another unsettling development in the investigation into Cobalt's surviving presence across the island.

Sunfall was once a place where families came to escape their everyday lives.

Now, someone wearing Cobalt's uniform is standing among its ruins.

And Haven wants to know why.

SUNFALL: PARADISE BEFORE THE FALL

Before the island's collapse, Sunfall Waterpark was one of Paradise's most recognizable family attractions.

Its pools, entertainment areas and elaborate structures were part of the tourism industry that helped establish Paradise as a destination for visitors from around the world.

Families arrived for vacations. Children played beneath towering attractions. Workers maintained the grounds, operated equipment and welcomed guests who had little reason to imagine what the island would eventually become.

Sunfall was built for recreation, not containment or military operations.

As Cobalt expanded its influence across the island, however, the distinction between civilian property and corporate-controlled infrastructure became increasingly difficult to maintain.

Research facilities appeared behind restricted fences. Transportation networks were redirected. Civilian locations were drawn into Cobalt's growing system of logistics, security and emergency control.

When the Fall came, Sunfall closed along with the rest of Paradise's collapsing tourism industry.

What happened to every part of the complex afterward remains unclear.

Until now, there had been little reason for Islanders to view the waterpark as a significant location in the ongoing Cobalt investigation.

The new photograph may change that.

THE SPACE CENTER QUESTION

The most striking detail in the image is not the soldier's weapon.

It is the enormous COBALT SPACE CENTER lettering positioned above the facility.

The structure's relationship to Sunfall's original operations has not been established. Its signage suggests a direct Cobalt association, but investigators have yet to determine whether the location began as a corporate-sponsored attraction, was altered during Cobalt's expansion or acquired an entirely different purpose after civilian operations ended.

The surrounding area contains industrial equipment, stored materials and access routes that appear to remain usable.

Their presence raises the possibility that parts of the complex continued to serve a practical function after Sunfall closed.

That possibility alone does not establish an active command post.

But the armed operative changes how Haven must approach the site.

Someone associated with Cobalt is still present at Sunfall.

Whether that individual belongs to a larger security detachment, an automated patrol assignment or a surviving operational unit remains unknown.

ANOTHER PIECE OF COBALT DOWN

The discovery comes during CYCLE 01 — COBALT DOWN, as Paradise Haven attempts to understand why Cobalt aircraft and security forces continue operating across an island that has already suffered the collapse of its civilian population.

Recent investigations have focused on unexplained aircraft movements, crash sites and cargo whose purpose remains uncertain.

At the same time, Haven's expanding Project Eden investigation has uncovered three locations of interest: Quarantine Sanctuary, Eden Medical Facility and Eden Burial Vault.

Those discoveries followed the interception of obsolete Cobalt medical identifiers and a transmission containing the warning:

CONTAINMENT NOT CONFIRMED.

There is currently no evidence establishing a direct connection between the Sunfall Space Center and that transmission.

Nor has Haven linked the location to a particular downed aircraft.

But the growing number of encounters with Cobalt personnel has made one thing increasingly difficult to dismiss.

The Fall did not bring all of Cobalt's operations to an end.

In some places, the machinery of the old island continues to function.

And it is not yet clear who, or what, is directing it.

ORDERS FROM A DEAD WORLD

Paradise Haven's surviving records describe an island transformed by Cobalt's growing authority and eventually absorbed into the systems responsible for the repeating Cycle.

Those systems continue to restore resources, reinitialize infrastructure and deploy hostile forces long after the collapse of the civilization they were originally intended to serve.

Some of Cobalt's surviving operations may be running under instructions that were never revoked.

Others may still have personnel carrying out duties whose original purpose has been lost.

The soldier photographed at Sunfall could represent either possibility.

Investigators cannot determine an operative's orders from a single image.

What they can determine is that the former waterpark can no longer be considered an entirely unoccupied civilian ruin.

The unanswered question is what Cobalt still considers important enough to protect.

HAVEN REQUESTS ADDITIONAL EVIDENCE

Paradise Operations is asking Islanders exploring Sunfall to remain alert for further signs of Cobalt activity.

Of particular interest are equipment markings, shipping records, access credentials, communications hardware and evidence of continued use of the Space Center's surrounding structures.

Islanders are advised to approach armed personnel with caution and avoid assuming that abandoned attractions are free of danger.

Any recovered information may help Haven determine whether the Space Center was part of Sunfall's original public attraction, a later Cobalt installation or something that changed purpose as the island deteriorated.

For now, the photograph has been added to the Cycle 01 investigation archive.

PARADISE WAS BUILT FOR VISITORS. COBALT HAD OTHER PLANS.

The significance of Sunfall goes beyond a single armed encounter.

It is a reminder of how completely the island changed.

A destination once filled with families and holidaymakers now contains ruins, abandoned equipment and personnel carrying weapons beneath the name of the corporation that came to dominate Paradise.

The buildings survived.

The signs survived.

And, apparently, Cobalt did too.

If Cobalt still has a reason to remain at Sunfall, what else did it leave behind?

Paradise Dispatch will continue reporting as new evidence reaches Paradise Haven.

Paradise forgets. The Islanders remember.
