PARADISE HAVEN — An intercepted transmission from Cobalt's dormant command network has prompted an emergency advisory from Paradise Haven after signal operators uncovered what appears to be a scheduled, island-wide suspension of civilian protection protocols.

The transmission, recovered earlier today from an encrypted Cobalt frequency, contains instructions for a procedure identified only as WIPEOUT.

According to Haven's communications team, the message was not intended for human recipients. It appears to be an automated directive issued to the security systems still operating across the island.

Several sections remain encrypted, but one portion has been successfully recovered.

COBALT SYSTEMS — AUTOMATED DIRECTIVE

PROTOCOL: WIPEOUT
AUTHORIZATION: CONFIRMED
INITIATION: OCT 14 / 20:00 EASTERN
CIVILIAN PROTECTION PROTOCOLS: SUSPEND
SURVIVOR CONFLICT RESTRICTIONS: DISABLE
STRUCTURAL DAMAGE RESTRICTIONS: DISABLE
OBSERVATION PERIOD: 18 HOURS
CYCLE RESET: OCT 15 / 14:00 EASTERN OBSERVE. TEST. RESET. REPEAT.

THE ISLAND WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE SAFE

For months, the surviving inhabitants of Paradise have lived beneath the influence of systems they do not fully understand. Armed patrols continue to move through abandoned infrastructure, restricted facilities remain operational, and Cobalt's automated network appears capable of enforcing rules long after the people responsible for creating them disappeared.

Those same systems have prevented Islanders from turning their weapons against one another and protected survivor-built settlements from hostile attacks.

At 8:00 PM tonight, those protections are scheduled to disappear.

Haven's analysts believe Cobalt is preparing to conduct a controlled experiment, temporarily removing restrictions to observe how the island's remaining population responds when survival is no longer governed by enforced cooperation.

Outside Paradise Haven, survivors will be free to engage one another. Settlements that have stood undisturbed throughout the Cycle may become targets, and resources accumulated over the past two weeks could change hands before morning.

The purpose of the experiment remains unknown. What concerns Haven's operators most is the precision of the instructions. The shutdown has already been scheduled, its duration established, and its conclusion tied directly to the next Cycle Reset.

Cobalt is not losing control of the island. It is deliberately removing the rules.

PARADISE HAVEN WILL REMAIN PROTECTED

Paradise Haven's security perimeter is expected to remain operational throughout the test. Settlement officials have advised Islanders to use Haven as a place of refuge, resupply and regrouping while conditions outside its boundaries deteriorate.

Beyond the settlement, however, Haven cannot guarantee anyone's safety.

The Operations desk has urged survivors to prepare for hostile encounters, protect their supplies and reconsider travel through exposed territory once the shutdown begins.

There is also growing concern that Cobalt's observation network may be collecting information about how Islanders behave under these conditions: who fights, who cooperates, which settlements survive and what individuals are willing to sacrifice when the protections they have relied upon are withdrawn.

Whether this information influences future Cycles is not yet known.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE TEST ENDS?

The final portion of the recovered directive references a complete environmental reset scheduled for Thursday, October 15, at 2:00 PM Eastern.

Haven researchers have long suspected that the island's repeating Cycles are not natural events. Structures disappear, resources return, and portions of the environment are restored to conditions resembling those of an earlier period.

Yet the Islanders themselves continue to carry fragments of what came before.

Some remember places that no longer exist. Others recognize faces they cannot explain or recall events that seemingly never occurred. Haven has begun referring to these fragmented memories as Echoes, preserving whatever evidence it can recover in the Survivor Ledger.

If Cobalt intends to erase the physical evidence of its experiment tomorrow, those memories may become the only surviving record of what happens tonight.

A WARNING FROM PARADISE HAVEN

With fewer than eighteen hours separating the beginning of WIPEOUT from the next Cycle Reset, Paradise Haven has issued a final advisory to every survivor capable of receiving its transmissions.

The island you know today will not be the island you wake up to tomorrow.

When Cobalt's shutdown begins, the protection of the Cycle will give way to the choices of the people living inside it. Some will defend what they built. Others will take advantage of the disorder. By morning, the consequences may be impossible to undo.

And somewhere within the abandoned systems of Cobalt, the experiment will continue to record it all.

WIPEOUT begins tonight, October 14, at 8:00 PM Eastern. The next Cycle begins following Thursday's 2:00 PM Eastern reset.

Paradise Dispatch will continue monitoring recovered Cobalt transmissions as the situation develops.
